BCTC to Host Open House at Newtown Campus on September 24

LEXINGTON, KY — Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) invites prospective students, families, and members of the community to discover the many opportunities available at BCTC during its annual Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Newtown Campus, located at 500 Newtown Pike in Lexington.

The free, public event offers guests an opportunity to explore BCTC's programs, services, facilities and student resources while connecting directly with faculty, staff and current students.

With serving more than 19,000 students across six campus locations, BCTC continues to grow to meet the educational and workforce needs of the communities it serves. The Newtown Campus is at the heart of that growth, with exciting new and expanded spaces providing students with more opportunities to learn and prepare for successful careers.

Guests attending Open House will have the opportunity to learn about the extension of the Winchester campus and Newtown North Building, which houses BCTC's Dental Hygiene, Cosmetology and Testing Services, and learn more about the new Classroom Building currently under construction at the Newtown Campus.

"There is so much to see, experience and learn about at BCTC," said Dr. Greg Feeney, BCTC Chancellor. " Our growth underscores the vital role BCTC plays in meeting the workforce, educational, and economic needs of the students, employers, and communities we serve.  From new facilities and expanded programs to the dedicated faculty and staff who support our students every day, BCTC is creating more opportunities for people throughout the region to earn credentials, build a career and achieve their goals. We invite the community to come see firsthand how BCTC is evolving to meet the future."

Open House will showcase more than 40 associate degree programs, along with career and technical education opportunities, student organizations, support services and resources designed to help students succeed.

Guests can participate in campus tours, interactive program demonstrations and conversations with faculty, current students, admissions and financial aid representatives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about scholarships, the application process, financial aid and the many resources available to support students from enrollment through completion.

Whether you're a high school student considering your next step, an adult looking to advance your career or make a career change, or a family member helping a student navigate the college decision, BCTC's Open House provides an opportunity to get questions answered and experience the college firsthand.
