The enhanced space was made possible through a $100,000 Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant awarded in 2024 to support the renovation and expansion of career-focused student resources.

The Open House will be held from 1:00–2:30 p.m. and 4:30–5:30 p.m. in Building N, Room 110, 164 Opportunity Way, Lexington, KY 40511. Both sessions are open to the public, no RSVP is required, and light refreshments will be provided.

The newly renovated center, located in the former Testing Center space (which has relocated to Building 30 at Newtown North), is designed to enhance student access to career readiness services. The updated facility includes:

  • A dedicated student space for meetings and study
  • Offices for the Career Services team, including Career Navigators
  • A conference room accommodating up to eight individuals for in-person interviews and employer meetings

The Career Services Center provides comprehensive support, including career counseling, resume development, mock interviews, and career-readiness workshops. During the Fall 2025 semester alone, Career Services hosted 36 workshops and events, conducted 120+ one-on-one appointments, completed 75+ resume reviews, facilitated 50 mock interviews, and delivered 15+ classroom and First-Year Experience presentations. An additional 46 workshops are planned for Spring 2026, reflecting sustained growth in student engagement.

“This renovation represents a strategic investment in student success and workforce readiness,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, President/CEO of BCTC. “Through the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant, we have created a dedicated, professional environment where students can receive personalized guidance, build confidence, and prepare for meaningful careers. This space strengthens the bridge between education and employment and reinforces our commitment to providing high-value opportunities that lead to long-term success.”

Dr. Tracy Spotts, Director of Career Services, emphasized the direct impact on students.

“The new Career Services Center transforms how we serve students,” said Dr. Tracy Spotts, Director of Career Services at BCTC. “Having a centralized, welcoming space designed specifically for career exploration and professional preparation allows us to meet students where they are and provide individualized support. From resume reviews to mock interviews in a professional conference setting, this environment helps students build the skills and confidence necessary to compete in today’s workforce.”

The expansion aligns with BCTC’s mission to maximize student access, retention, and success by integrating career development throughout the academic journey.

Community members, students, faculty, staff, and employer partners are invited to attend the Open House and tour the new facility.
