BCTC and KSU Announce Dual Enrollment and Transfer Agreement
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2010) Bluegrass Community and Technical College and Kentucky State University have announced a new dual enrollment agreement and a new program aimed at streamlining the transfer process from BCTC to KSU.
BCTC President Augusta A. Julian and KSU President Mary Evans Sias signed the dual enrollment agreement during a news conference on the BCTC campus. The agreement allows students to take classes at both schools simultaneously.
The dual enrollment agreement sets the stage for the new BCTC Green and Gold program, which is designed for students who plan to complete an associate degree from BCTC and then transfer to KSU to pursue a bachelor's degree. Students who enroll in the BCTC Green and Gold program will be eligible to take classes at a reduced tuition rate at KSU while enrolled at BCTC, and when they successfully complete the associate degree (BCTC students must have a 2.0 GPA to graduate), the students will be guaranteed admission to KSU upon application by the appropriate deadline.
The students can begin signing up now online at ttp://legacy.bluegrass.kctcs.edu/forms/transfer_center/bctc_green_and_gold/ to take classes in the fall, when the program begins.
