Remi Bellocq, executive director of Bluegrass Community and Technical College’s North American Racing Academy (BCTC-NARA), has been named editorial cartoonist for The BloodHorse magazine. His artwork will be featured every other week starting with the January 28 issue of the magazine.
John K. Keitt, Jr., publisher of The BloodHorse said, “Remi is well-known for his general and editorial cartooning. We will be including Remi’s art upfront in The Wire, with an encore in BloodHorse Daily. In addition to his artistic talents, Remi has an enduring, in-depth understanding and appreciation for our wonderful sport that effectively informs the insights found in his illustrations.”
In addition to serving as executive director of NARA, Bellocq spent 10 years as executive director and CEO of the National Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association and two decades in various management positions at Garden State Park, Hollywood Park, Longacres, Turf Paradise, and Santa Anita Park. His father is widely revered cartoonist Pierre “PEB” Bellocq.
