BCTC Participates in Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration March

LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 12, 2012) Faculty, staff and students from Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) will join hundreds of other citizens on Monday, January 16 for Lexingtons 40th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom March. The march begins at 10 a.m. and departs from downtown at the Lexington Center Heritage Hall on West Main Street.

The Enlace Latino student organization will lead BCTC in the march this year and will be joined by other BCTC students, faculty and staff.

Dr. Martin Luther King would be greatly honored by the unity that this celebration brings to our city, said BCTC Vice President for Multiculturalism and Inclusion Charlene Walker. This is a great opportunity for the entire community and BCTC to recognize the importance of coming together in unity and fellowship.

Following the march, a commemorative program will be held at 11 a.m. at the Lexington Center Heritage Hall.
