About una-usa bctc chapter
The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) BCTC chapter was established as a student organization on September 12, 2024. The chapter became nationally recognized on August 8, 2025. We are the only campus chapter within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The purpose of the chapter is to inform, inspire, and mobilize students to support the principles and vital work of the United Nations.
What are the benefits to students?
The UNA-USA BCTC chapter provides students with hands-on opportunities to develop skills in international relations, public speaking, negotiation, and cross-cultural collaboration. Moreover, our chapter seeks to enhance BCTC’s commitment to global citizenship by promoting global awareness, diplomacy, and leadership through education, dialogue, and actions aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
What are our Goals and Objectives?
1. Promote Global Awareness – Host events, discussions, and guest speakers focused on international issues.
2. Develop Student Leadership – Offer leadership opportunities through officer positions, committee work, and project management.
3. Encourage Civic Engagement – Partner with other organizations to support service projects that align with UN SDGs.
4. Enhance Academic Opportunities – Support Model United Nations (MUN) participation and leadership development.
5. Foster Dialogue – Provide a platform for student voices and perspectives on global issues.
