Library Laptop Request/Renewal

Eligibility

  • BCTC students and adjunct faculty are eligible for laptop loans.
  • Students must be already registered for at least one course to fill out this form. If you are not registered for classes before you fill out this form, your request or renewal will be automatically denied.
  • Students with active library fines must resolve the fines before they can request or renew a laptop.

Summer 2026 Important Dates

  • Requests open: April 6, 2026 - Requests may be made starting at 8:00 a.m. EST on this day. Please note that your request will not be processed until the date listed below.
  • Renewal request processing starts: April 27, 2026 - We will begin processing renewal requests on this day. If you requested renewal and do not receive a renewal receipt in your student email within a week of this date, please contact the library to make sure your request was received.
  • Laptop pickup starts: May 11, 2026 - You will be notified when your laptop is ready for pickup. If you do not pick up your laptop within three days, you request will expire.
  • Due date: Aug 10, 2026 - All laptops checked out or renewed for the Summer 2026 semester will be due this day. Failure to return or renew your laptop by this day without creating arrangements with the library may result in fines, registration holds, and ineligibility for future laptop loans.

Other Information

  • Request processing and waitlist: All form submissions are processed in they order they are received. We typically process requests within two business days, but this can be longer during periods of high demand. Laptops are available as supplies last, and you may be placed on a waitlist if there are no laptops available to fulfill your request.
  • Your contact information: The library will contact you with information about your request and about laptop loans via email. Please check your KCTCS email address regularly for updates about your request. We may also attempt to contact you using the phone number listed in your student account. To ensure that the library can reach you, please make sure your contact information in MyPath is correct. View these online instructions for information on how to update your contact information.
  • Laptops do not automatically renew: Please remember to fill out a new form every semester.
