Project on Saturday, October 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lexmark International. This free event is designed to encourage middle and high school girls to pursue careers in advanced manufacturing, a high-wage, high-demand career field in Kentucky.

The event is the second in a series that will feature female instructors and industry professionals providing hands-on activities and an industry tour at Lexmark International’s headquarters. The day's exploration covers electricity, engineering, computer-aided design and industrial maintenance, encouraging girls to consider careers in advanced manufacturing.

"Our faculty at BCTC see that the number of women enrolling in the Advanced Manufacturing area is few," says Laura Lynch, the Girls Can, Too! Project Coordinator at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. "The Girls Can, Too! Project will explore and address the barriers females face in pursuing these important careers.”

The project is funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant.
