BCTC Theatre presents “Much Ado About Nothing” in Winchester

BCTC Theatre's "Much Ado About Nothing" posterLEXINGTON, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) Theatre is going on the road to present William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" at the BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus Amphitheater on May 12 and 13.

BCTC Theatre and directors Tim X Davis and Kathy Swango present Shakespeare’s classic play with a modern twist. Enjoy the story set in a not-too-distant dystopian future at the Winchester campus in an outdoor show. Attendees are encouraged to bring outdoor chairs and blankets.

"When I said I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married." Lies and deceit threaten to bring lovers together or tear them apart in Shakespeare’s sharp-tongued romantic comedy. Love is in the air when Don Pedro’s army, including Claudio and Benedick, returns victorious from war. Claudio must navigate the passions and jealousies of courting when he falls smitten for the beautiful Hero. Meanwhile, their friends devise a scheme to spark a romance between the confirmed bachelor Benedick and his long-time adversary, Beatrice.

Showtime is at 7 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. for a live musical preshow at 2020 Rolling Hills Lane, Winchester. Tickets are $10 and ONLY available online through through the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center Box Office, or by calling 859-425-2550 to reserve your seats.

In the event of rain, May 14 will be a make-up night.
