Lexington, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is a proud recipient of the Hudson-Ellis Grant award for dual credit scholarships from the Blue Grass Community Foundation.
BCTC is excited to announce the receipt of a $7,500 Hudson-Ellis grant to support dual credit students at the Danville Campus. This generous funding comes from the Blue Grass Community Foundation, a valued partner dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Central and Appalachia Kentucky.
This year, the Hudson-Ellis Fund awarded a total of $107,000 in grants to 13 charitable organizations, all focused on improving the well-being of children and adults in Boyle County. Additionally, the scholarship fund has provided $42,000 in new and renewed college scholarships, offering $1,500 and $3,000 renewable scholarships to high school seniors from Boyle County High School, Danville High School, and the Kentucky School for the Deaf.
We are grateful for the support of the Blue Grass Community Foundation and look forward to using this grant to benefit our students and community!
“We are very grateful to have received the $7,500 Hudson-Ellis grant,” said Ty Howard, BCTC Danville Campus Director. “This opportunity to support economically disadvantaged students in the four high schools in Boyle County interested in enrolling in dual credit courses is a life-changing gift. I will work diligently to ensure that students and parents are aware of these funds and to encourage enrollment in dual credit courses.”
“We are thrilled to have received this award from the Blue Grass Community Foundation,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, BCTC President/CEO. “The funds from this grant will support our mission by providing high school students in the Boyle County area access to begin their postsecondary educational journey. At BCTC, we believe that student success starts here, and earning credentials with us opens doors to bright futures.”
