This innovative initiative, inspired by the concept of ‘Fantasy Football,’ aims to engage a diverse group of students in a gamified, competitive environment to explore the potential of AI tools in addressing real-world challenges. The AI Future League will bring together at least 50 students from various disciplines, organized into 10 cross-disciplinary teams. Each team will include 5 to 7 students, fostering a collaborative environment where students can learn from each other.

Dr. Greg Feeney, President of BCTC, commented “We are thrilled to launch the AI Future League at BCTC. This project not only provides our students with hands-on experience in using AI tools but also fosters a collaborative environment where they can learn from each other and tackle real-world problems. It’s an exciting opportunity for our college to lead in AI education and innovation.”

On ‘Game Day,’ the AI Advisory Team will issue four challenges that the student teams must tackle using AI tools. These challenges will cover a range of topics relevant to business, society, technology, and education. The teams’ responses will be evaluated and scored by the AI Competition Board, with points awarded and tracked on a leaderboard. This competitive element is designed to enhance learning and engagement, as research shows that leaderboards and points systems can significantly improve educational outcomes.

BCTC is committed to enhancing AI literacy and competency across the college, and the AI Future League represents a significant step towards achieving this goal.
