Alison Lundergan Grimes visits BCTC to promote GoVoteKy.com

LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 13, 2016) Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes paid a visit on Monday morning to tell Bluegrass Community amp; Technical College (BCTC) students, faculty and staff, about the new voter registration portal at govoteky.com.

Standing on the front steps of BCTC's Newton Campus Administration Building, Grimes urged everyone to drop the remote and get out and vote this election season. She said that the largest group of non-voters in Kentucky is made up of minorities and youth. To demonstrate how easy it is to register, Grimes had two students use the portal while she was speaking, getting registered within a few minutes

With the govoteky.com portal, Kentuckians can easily go online, register for the first time to vote, update their address, get driving directions to polling locations, see a sample ballot and more. The deadline to register to vote is October 11.

For more information about how to register to vote, visit the voter registration portal at http://www.govoteky.com
