Volunteer Opportunities
Getting involved on campus gives you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and build your resume! The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is offering multiple ways to get involved this semester, the volunteer opportunities listed below.
Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Volunteer with us at monthly service projects with community service organizations! We have opportunities to serve lunch at Lexington Rescue Mission, the Hope Center and help with general cleaning and upkeep at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Transportation will be offered from the Newtown campus for the Lexington Rescue Mission & Hope Center project, and from the Cooper campus for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. You do not have to sign up to volunteer at each date listed, but you are welcome to join us as often as you can!
- Serve lunch at the Lexington Rescue Mission
- 2nd Wednesday of each month (February 6, March 6, April 10, May 1)
- Transportation will leave Newtown Classroom Building at 11:30am, and return at 1:15pm. If you would like to drive yourself, please arrive by 11:45am. The address is: 444 Glen Arvin Ave. Lexington, KY 40508
- We will get to serve lunch to the residents at the Lexington Rescue Mission. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Serve lunch at the Hope Center
- 4th Friday of each month (January 25, February 22, March 22, April 26)
- Transportation will leave Newtown Classroom Building at 11:30am, and return at 1:15pm. If you would like to drive yourself, please arrive by 11:45am. The address is: Jacobs Hope Cafeteria, 299 W Loudon Ave. Lexington, KY 40508
- We will get to serve lunch to the residents at the Hope Center. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Help with cleaning and upkeep at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge
- First Tuesday of each month (February 5, March 5, and April 2)
- Transportation will leave Cooper’s Oswald Building at 11:15am, and return at 1:15pm. If you would like to drive yourself, please arrive by 11:30am. The address is: 1500 College Way Lexington, KY 40502
- We will be doing cleaning, general upkeep and possibly some work outside for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
