Spotlight Instruction Series FAQs

Attending Spotlight Instruction Series sessions is one more opportunity to engage with course content or gain essential skills, whether academic, like test-taking or time management, or life skills related to stress management and overall well-being.

Students who attend SIS are twice as likely to pass their courses compared to students who do not attend any Spotlight sessions.

Some instructors will require you to attend spotlight sessions throughout the semester as part of your grade. Spotlight Instruction also counts as an Engagement Credit, required for FYE and some other courses. Still others may offer extra credit for Spotlight attendance. Regardless, attending SIS can help you learn material and improve your overall student success. Please check your syllabus to see if this is a requirement for your class.
