First Year Orientation | BCTC

First Year Orientation

BCTC is offering both on-campus and virtual livestream First Year Orientations for Summer and Fall 2022. We can’t wait to welcome you to BCTC!

As of March 1, 2022, masks are optional for students attending on-campus. Please continue to check your e-mail after registering for an orientation in case there are changes due to updated COVID requirements.

First Year Orientation is your opportunity to learn about financial aid, degrees and programs, and the many resources available to help you be successful. We believe orientation is important to helping you get off to a great start, therefore we require orientation to be completed by all new freshmen.

It is up to you if want to attend a virtual orientation or on-campus one. If you choose to attend virtually, then you will receive an orientation packet in the mail. Attending in person, you have the benefit of being able to take a placement test and schedule classes the same day as well as visit the resource fair and talk to staff in Financial Aid and other offices for any issues or questions you have.

Click on the box below for the type of orientation you would like to register for: on-campus or virtual.

Regional Campuses: Please note, that on-campus orientations for regional campuses (Danville, Georgetown, Lawrenceburg, and Winchester) will begin in June. You do not have to attend a regional orientation to take classes at a regional campus. Any student, regardless of the campus you want to go to, can attend orientation in Lexington or virtually.

Note about scheduling classes: Placement testing and advising will be available on orientation day, if you’re attending in person.

If you are attending orientation virtually or want to schedule your classes before your on-campus orientation, please complete the Freshman Pre-Advising Form and you will be contacted about how to test and advise before orientation.

* The Student Success Hub can provide excused absence letters to students attending orientation during a school or work day.
