Positions

These positions are open for both federal work-study eligible and non-work-study students to apply.

Position Duties/Details
Presidential Student Ambassador
  • PSAs are the student face of BCTC. They take part in campus and community events and attend various meetings to provide a student perspective.
Tutoring Center Assistant
  • Assist in the Tutoring Center at Newtown with general office duties (greeting students, answering questions, making copies, etc.)
Tutors
  • Tutors assist students with understanding materials in a wide range of subjects. We hire both online and on-campus tutors as well as tutors at regional campuses.
Peer Mentor
  • Peer mentors assist students with basic study skills, time management, basic computer skills, and doing short presentations to classes on various topics on how to be successful in college. Peer Mentor positions are available at Newtown and our Regional Campuses.
Hub Office Assistant
  • This position is only available to work-study eligible students
  • Provide general office support (answering phones, making copies, assisting with events) in the Hub at Newtown.
Heart Assistant
  • This position is only available to work-study eligible students
  • The Heart Assistant works in the Heart of BCTC Pantry at the Newtown Campus. This position will stock the shelves of the pantry, help track inventory, and assist students needing to use the pantry.
Intramural Sports Assistant/Referee
  • This position is only available to work-study eligible students
  • The Intramurals Assistant helps promote, organize, and host our intramural sports programs. Students applying for this position need to be able to work at least 1 – 2 evenings per week during the semester.
